Unchained Christmas Giveaway 2020

Help Unchained give kids in Syracuse with a parent in state prison a special Christmas! Being separated from your family is never easy, but the holidays are often especially difficult times.
Over the past two years, Unchained has provided gifts to more than 60 children from parents in a dozen prisons across the state. This year the need is greater than ever as the same families ripped apart by incarceration have also been hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. COVID has ripped through several state prisons, visits were suspended for many months (and in some places are still suspended), and phone calls have been extremely limited due to facility lockdowns. Families separated by incarceration need community solidarity more than ever this holiday season.
Without this project, many parents would feel helpless, unable to provide for their children at a special time of year, and kids would be left wondering why there are no presents from Mommy or Daddy under the tree. You can help us change that and keep the family ties between children and their parents strong!
This year we are thrilled to have support from the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation for the giveaway! But we still need your help to pull it off. All funds raised will go directly to purchasing gifts for children, chosen by their parents, and the supplies to wrap and deliver the gifts. Any funds raised above those costs will be used to directly support incarcerated people communicating with their loved ones (prison phone calls cost money!) during the holiday season.
We know that people across our communities are struggling financially this year and are grateful for donations of any size!
