“Help us raise funds to organise art exhibitions aimed at unfolding and raising awareness about Thailand’s issues!”
By Headache Stencil & friends
An exhibition to reveal the truth through art behind the various issues happening in Thailand that need to be Uncensor(ed) in order to be resolved.
In our last year’s exhibition, ‘Uncensored#1’, most of the art pieces were aimed at raising awareness about Thailand political issues, which are intrinsically the root of the various social and economic inequality issues in this country.
In this year exhibition, the curator, Headache Stencil, has chosen to depart from the standard form of exhibition and decided to redefine the way ‘Uncensored’ is perceived. Uncensored#2 will be hitting the road. The roadshow exhibition will be travelling all over Thailand in order to bring fresh and holistic understanding of and to unfold the distinct political, social, and economic issues of each region. Artists from each region have been invited as honourary artists in the show, such as Rukkit, October29, Nev3r, NDTM, Spanky, Prachathipatype, Amann, Mamablues, Sanimbass, Brightside, Boo, Yakindark, etc.
Uncensred#2 will be kicking off in Chiang Mai on October14, 2020 and heading to Khon Kaen and Hat Yai thereafter. In additional to showcasting the artwork of the various artists from each regions, the artists will be making stops along the way to creat graffiti pieces that would encourage and empower the communities there to get through the country’s unsettling period. The graffiti will be collaborations between Headache Stencil and the local artists in the respective regions.
As you might expect, any effort to unfold Thailand’s issues are often perceived by the State as an ‘embarrassment’ rather than as the people’s demand for national development or for issues to be resolved. From being demonised by the State, it is profoundly difficult for us to find sponsors who would support us. The common people, including those from the private sector, have been ruled by fear to the extent that they do not have the encourage to exercise their freedom of speech. We have chosen Gofundme.com in order to raise funds in support of Uncensored#2 exhibition, which will be taking place on October14, 2020, in hope that it would help us reach our goals.
I,Headache Stencil, wish to thank you in advance for your support of our ‘Uncensored#2’art exhibition. This art exhibition is organised in order to foster democracy in Thailand. The more funds available to us, the more capabilities we have in organising exhibition in different provinces so that we able to spread our message through art.
