We are the UNC Chapel Hill Professional Actor Training Program (PATP) Class of 2020. M.F.A., here we come!
We are humbled and thrilled to be approaching the end of our training here at UNC. In addition to our work on the PlayMakers Repertory Company stage here in Chapel Hill, we've spent a big part of this academic year preparing to enter the professional acting industry. The best way to do this is by presenting a showcase of scenes in New York and L.A., the two coastal centers of the biz, for agents, managers, casting directors, and other industry professionals.
Here's where you come in! We six graduate students, in cooperation with The University of California at Irvine's graduating class, will be producing and paying for these showcases ourselves. The first performances will be on March 25th at The Colony Theatre in Los Angeles, followed by a second round of shows at Playwrights Horizons in New York City on April 13th. The costs we need to cover will include:
- Theater rental fees for both venues (approx. $1,000 each)
- 6 round-trip flights between Chapel Hill and NYC, and Chapel Hill and L.A.
- Accommodations for us for several nights in both cities
We are so excited to begin this new phase of our careers, and would hugely appreciate any amount you can spare towards our goal. We are continually awed by the generosity of our artistic communities, including the one we've enjoyed here in North Carolina; it takes a village, as any artist knows.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
With love and gratitude,
Adam, April, Brandon, Dan, Emily, and Sarah
