Why A Menstrual Drive in Afghanistan?
1. To advocate. Menstruation is still viewed as shameful and rarely discussed, even amongst female family members.
2. To reduce stigma. Menstruation is still surrounded by taboos that negatively impact menstruators.
3. To talk about menstruation as youth often have no idea what is happening to them when they get their first period.
We have volunteers in Afghanistan that will accept funds, purchase supplies and distribute supplies to two locations (a hospital and girls orphanage). Along with the distribution of supplies, we have a doctor volunteer to discuss with the recipients, important informations surrounding menstruation.
100% of the funds raised will go towards supplies that will be distributed in Afghanistan.
This campaign will run from March 22, 2021 - May 9, 2021.
Distribution of supplies will occur on May 27-30, 2021.
