UNADOPTABLE CATS
Tax deductible
The hidden cost of cat rescue: the unadoptable cats.
Our mission is to rescue homeless cats and kittens and find them a forever home. Sometimes we take in cats who turn out to be unadoptable, either because they are too feral, they have medical conditions, or are too old for anyone to want them. We never abandon such cats. They remain within our organization. And that costs money!
Take Mama Cat Maya. She came to us from a kill shelter, nursing four tiny beautiful kittens. The kittens were quickly adopted but Mama Cat Maya (who knows her name as Mama Cat) turned out to be feral. Three years in one of our foster homes, she learned to trust foster mom enough to be petted when given canned food, but does not want to be touched any other time and is ready to run if you get too close. In addition, Mama Cat Maya experiences two-three seizures a year.
Taking care of our unadoptable cats requires funds and we rely on the good will of cat lovers to help us keep taking care of them. We never abandon cats that we rescue!
Thanks in advance for your contribution to the Cat Adoption Team. We truly could not continue without your support.
CAT Adoption Team is a 501c3 Foster Home Network in Wilmington, NC. We rescue and rehome cats and kittens. All are spayed/neutered and vetted prior to adoption.
