Emperatriz Alicia Marchán Omaña es la hija de Benjamin Marchán y Emperatriz Omaña; tiene apenas 17 años y vive con sus padres en Mérida, Venezuela. El pasado 27 de mayo, fue diagnosticada con carcinoma epidermoide en su amígdala derecha, un tipo de cáncer agresivo que ha transformado su vida por completo.

Desde ese día, ha enfrentado el proceso con una fortaleza admirable. Ha recibido tratamiento oncológico, con la segunda sesión de quimioterapia realizada el 3 de julio y una tercera programada para el día 24. Después seguirán sesiones de radioterapia, cirugía y muchos exámenes de control. Aunque ha contado con el amor y el respaldo de familiares y amigos para consultas y exámenes, aún queda un largo camino por recorrer. Tu ayuda sería una bendición invaluable para completar este proceso y recuperar su salud.

Emperatriz ha vivido la música desde niña, ha sido su refugio siempre. Forma parte de la Cantoría de Mérida desde los 7 años y estudia Flauta Traversa en El Sistema, donde comenzó a los 5 en el kínder musical. Su sueño es continuar cantando, tocando y expresando esperanza a través del arte.

Además, en enero de 2026, Emperatriz espera comenzar la carrera de Medios Audiovisuales en la Universidad de Los Andes. Ella misma lo dice con esperanza en la voz: “quiero contar historias que inspiren y den esperanza, como esta que estoy viviendo hoy”

Esa luz, hoy, puede venir de nosotros. De cada granito de arena que aporte a su tratamiento, a su sueño, a su vida. Ayudémosla a llegar a ese futuro lleno de arte, de historias y de esperanza.

Su familia, de gran corazón y humildes recursos, ha hecho todo lo posible. Pero ahora necesitan del amor de muchas manos para seguir luchando por la vida de Emperatriz.

A voice that wants to keep singing: Let’s help Emperatriz!

Emperatriz Alicia Marchán Omaña is the beloved daughter of Benjamin Marchán and Emperatriz Omaña. She’s just 17 years old and lives with her parents in Mérida, Venezuela. On May 27th, she received a life-changing diagnosis: squamous cell carcinoma in her right tonsil—an aggressive form of cancer.

Since then, Emperatriz has faced every challenge with incredible strength and grace. She’s currently undergoing treatment, having completed her second round of chemotherapy on July 3rd, with the third scheduled for July 24th. After that, she will face radiation therapy, surgery, and multiple follow-up exams. Her loved ones have done everything in their power to cover initial costs, but the road ahead is long and financially overwhelming. Music has always been Emperatriz’s safe haven. She has been part of the Cantoría de Mérida since she was 7, and she plays the flute at El Sistema, where she started at age 5 in musical kindergarten. Her dream is to keep singing, playing, and sharing hope through art.

In January 2026, Emperatriz hopes to begin a degree in Audiovisual Media at the Universidad de Los Andes. With hope in her voice, she says: "I want to tell stories that inspire and offer hope, just like the one I’m living right now."
