Heriberto Correia de Freitas tiene 58 años, es licenciado en Bioanálisis, Dr. En Ciencias, investigador y director del instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas BIOMED, profesor en la Universidad de Carabobo con sede en el estado Aragua Venezuela.
A mediados del mes de mayo de este año, se le diagnostica MIELOMA MULTIPLE, que pese a tratarse de un cáncer de sangre poco frecuente, en España se han hecho grandes avances que han conseguido aumentar la esperanza de vida de pacientes que lo padecen en los últimos años.
Pese a que había iniciado su tratamiento en Venezuela (gracias a sus ahorros, y la ayuda de familiares y amigos), es del conocimiento público las precarias condiciones de la sanidad venezolana, aunado a los bajos ingresos que perciben, y la escasez de medicamentos, le han hecho difícil afrontar las complicaciones surgidas durante su primer mes de tratamiento y que afectan seriamente su estado de salud.
Por lo antes expuesto, él y su familia inician la búsqueda de opciones para que pueda recibir la asistencia médica que tanto necesita en la Sanidad Pública de Madrid y con ello mejorar su condición. No obstante, a pesar de la trayectoria de Heriberto como profesional cualificado en el campo de la investigación y la docencia, no cuenta con los ingresos suficientes que le permitan costear el traslado a España y la estadía, a raíz de la grave inflación que golpea al país en estos momentos, es por ello que él necesita el apoyo y la solidaridad de las personas que lo puedan ayudar a recuperar su salud y le permitan seguir realizando la gran labor que ha venido desempeñando por años: la enseñanza e investigar por la cura de enfermedades que padecen otras personas.
Nuestra campaña está enfocada a recaudar la cantidad de siete mil euros (€7.000,00), necesarios para el traslado desde Venezuela a España y la manutención de Heriberto y su Esposa Maritza Diaz, quien lo acompañará en esta dura batalla, por el tiempo que dure su tratamiento, actualmente no contamos con la información acerca de cuanto tiempo va a durar este proceso ya que son ciclos de quimioterapia y futuro transplante de médula ósea y depende totalmente de la evolución de Heriberto.

For the above reasons, he and his family begin the search for options so that they can receive the medical assistance they so badly need in the Public Health System of Madrid and thereby improve their condition. However, despite the trajectory of Heriberto as a qualified professional in the field of research and teaching, he does not have sufficient income to pay for the transfer to Spain and the stay, as a result of the serious inflation that hits the country at this time, that is why he needs the support and solidarity of the people who can help him recover his health and allow him to continue carrying out the great work he has been doing for years: teaching and investigating for the cure of diseases that other people suffer.
