<div>Leo padece <strong>drepanocitosis</strong> (anemia falciforme), una enfermedad genética en la que sus glóbulos rojos no transportan bien el oxígeno y se destruyen mucho más rápido de lo normal. Mientras un glóbulo rojo sano puede durar alrededor de 120 días, en su caso duran solo entre 10 y 20 días, lo que afecta seriamente su salud.

<div>Actualmente es atendido en el hospital de ginecopediatría en Hermosillo, pero su hematóloga nos informó que, por ahora, ya no puede hacer más por él aquí. Sus niveles de hierro están muy elevados <strong>(5,180 cuando deberían estar cerca de 300)</strong>, y nos recomendó buscar tratamiento en Estados Unidos.
