Parker the Heart Warrior

Donation protected
Parker Bennett Walls was born on September 18th with a congenital heart defect (Double Outlet Right Ventricle with Pulmonary Stenosis and a large VSD as well as Tetrology of Fallot). Parker had a valvuloplasty on September 27th to try and open the pulmonary valve to allow more blood to reach the lungs. The hope was that the procedure would improve his oxygen saturations and stabilize him enough so he could go home and grow for s few months before having open heart surgery to repair the other defects. Unfortunately, on the night of October 1st Parker’s saturations dropped so low that he was intubated in the NICU and an emergency open heart surgery was performed on the morning of October 2nd. The surgeon was able to make a full repair of Parker’s heart but his recovery has been very difficult. Just over 24 hours post-op Parker’s heart stopped and he had no pulse. Thankfully his doctors were able to bring him back with chest compressions and a dose of epi. Parker will likely have a long hospital stay up in the Twin Cities at the University of Minnesota, which is over two hours away from home. His mom, Lindsey Walls, is a single mom since Parker’s dad decided he didn’t want to be involved in his son’s life and has had no contact with them since she was 6 months pregnant. That being said, Lindsey is so grateful for all of the prayers people are sending her way, but I thought it might be helpful to her if we could help her out monetarily as well.
