************UPDATE**************UPDATE**************

Hello everyone,

Just want to first say, words cannot describe the gratitude we have for the unbelievable amount of support you have shown Megan through this very scary and unsettling time in her battle with MS. She is such an amazing human being who has so positively impacted everyone that crosses her path. It is no wonder we have had so much love and support. So thank you from the bottom of my heart she means the world to me and so many others. Without all of you we would not have the hope and optimism we have been able to maintain throughout this battle.

So, for those of you who do not know me I am Megan’s sister, Shannon. I just wanted to update everyone on what is happening and this new exciting opportunity we have been hoping and praying for.

After so many weeks in the New Orleans hospital, leaving everyone in a very difficult state of long distance limbo, we have discovered a way to get Megan transported here to Indiana. Here she will be closer to Mom and I, our extended family, her boys and husband, and more specified treatment options. She will be able to utilize a local MS center that offers MS experienced specialized doctors as well as research opportunities and MS specialized care. These factors will all play such a substantial role as we fight to get her back to her beautiful self in a stable healthy place. It appears, reducing the inflammation of these lesions, which are the culprits for this very severe MS attack, and decreasing her symptoms of disability is going to be a long-term battle. We have struggled to find long distance solution where she is located now and have continued to come up short in or effort to get her transferred to Indiana.

Recently we have discovered a small charity in Indiana called Grace on Wings. They have been exactly that. Grace on Wings is willing to donate the medical personal, pilot, aircraft, insurance, ambulance service to facility of our choice once we arrive in Indiana, and to orchestrate arrangements between the two facilities. All they ask of us is that we pay for the fuel and the ambulance in New Orleans. We feel so blessed to have such and amazing network of people who helped us discover Grace on Wings and that finally we can get Megan close to home and making more progress with all of us right here to help.

So, our new goal is to raise the money to pay back the cost of the fuel. Grace on Wings is willing to move her as early as the end of this week (7/3/17). We realize it will take longer to raise the money but want to act fast as we have this resource available to us. So we ask, any help you can give gets us a step closer to getting Megan on her path to recovery and close to her support system here in Indiana. Please understand that even the smallest amount makes a huge difference including sharing this page with friends and family and on social media. We have learned that by each of sharing with our network of resources and ots of prayers, amazing things can happen.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and all of us here in her pit crew,

~Shannon

Megan and James are the loving parents of three beautiful boys with another child on the way.  Megan struggles with multiple sclerosis and requires specialized medical care that is not readily available in their small community. Megan and James had planned on moving their family from Louisiana to Indianapolis at the end of the school year in order to be closer to Megan's family and have easier access to much needed medical care.

Unfortunately, two weeks ago, Megan began presenting symptoms of an MS flare-up and is now in critical condition at a hospital in New Orleans.  At first she was unresponsive but is showing some improvement.

Megan's neurologist is located in Houston and is transferring Megan there where she will be given the best treatment available in the country. As you can imagine, the cost of the transport is astronomical in addition to the mounting costs of critical care.

Due to the anticipated move, James is currently unemployed but expected to start a job in Indiana after the move.  The family is now depending on the help of others to meet their growing needs.

Having known Megan since the day she was born, it has been a blessing to watch her grow up to be the strong, beautiful, and kind-hearted mother she is today. Megan has always seemed to handle her illness with grace, dignity, and a touch of humor as those who know her will agree.

Please help support Megan and her family financially during this critical time and also by keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.   Thank you very much.
