Axel es uno los 3 hijos de Rony el guardián de mi condominio en GUATEMALA y a quien conozco desde hace muchos años y necesita toda la ayuda que se pueda.
Con tan solo 13 años, fue diagnosticado con insuficiencia renal crónica hace UN AÑO , DOS MESES cuando comenzó a sentirse mal, con muchos dolores de cabeza y cansancio en exceso.
Luego de exámenes de laboratorio y un ultrasonido le fue diagnosticado dicho cuadro clínico.
Según el diagnóstico Axel necesita dos hemodiálisis semanales pero su familia es de escasos recursos y sus papas ganan el salario mínimo (de Guatemala), juntos mantienen una casa de 6 personas, con tan solo Q6200= $794 al mes.
En la casa viven:
· Axel y sus dos hermanos
· El papá de Rony quien es diabético y que lamentablemente está por perder una pierna por la diabetes
· Rony y su esposa
La mamá de Axel va a donarle uno de sus riñones y gracias a la Fundación Manos de Amor la operación no va tener ningún costo, sin embargo hay lista de espera (y se desconoce en cuento tiempo van a poder operar a Axel) todavía no se tiene fecha para la misma.
La situación de Axel empeora cada día , recibiendo únicamente una de dos hemodiálisis que debería recibir a la semana, ha perdido peso y por el dolor cuenta su papá que no puede dormir acostado, duerme recostado en una silla.
A continuación les presento un cuadro de algunos de los gastos que necesitan ser cubiertos para que Axel pueda salir adelante y ganarle la batalla a esta enfermedad:
· dos diálisis semanales con un valor de Q900 cada una para un total de Q1800 semanales en diálisis sumado a esto se le deben administrar
· 3 Ampollas diarias durante la sesión de la hemodiálisis con un valor de Q150 c/u para un total de Q900 semanales en ampollas.
· Antibióticos
· Citas con el medico y dieta especial
Mi familia y personas de mi condomino han colaborado en varias ocasiones con el sin embargo sus cuentas se acumulan y necesita toda la ayuda posible!

ENGLISH TRANSLATION
Axel is one of three siblings and the son of Rony, the security guard at my condominium in GUATEMALA, and a person I have known for many years.
Thirteen-year-old Axel was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure a year and two months ago when he began to feel unwell, including having headaches and being excessively tired all of the time.
After laboratory tests and an ultrasound, he was diagnosed with such a terrible disease.
Due to the diagnosis, Axel requires two hemodialysis sessions weekly, but this is challenging as his family brings in a low income as his parents earn Guatemala's minimum wage. Together, they take care of a household of six with ONLY Q6200 = $794 a month. In the household live:
• Axel and his two brothers
• Rony's father, who is diabetic and who unfortunately is about to lose a leg due to diabetes
• Rony and his wife
Axel's mother is going to donate one of her kidneys to him and thanks to Manos de Amor Foundation the operation will be at no cost, however, there is a waiting list (how long is unknown) and there is still no date for the much-needed surgery.
Axel's situation worsens every day, receiving only one of two hemodialysis sessions that he is required to be receiving each week. He has lost weight and because of the pain, his father says that he cannot sleep lying down. He sleeps reclining on a chair.
Here is a table of some of the expenses that need to be covered in order for Axel to continue on his journey towards defeating the disease:
• Two weekly dialysis sessions with a value of Q900 each for a total of Q1800 weekly on dialysis and added to this should be the administration = $227 a week
• Three ampoules daily during the hemodialysis session with a value of Q150 each, for a total of Q900 weekly in ampoules = $113 a week
• Antibiotics
• Appointments with the doctor
My family and people living in my community have been helping him, but his medical bills continue to pile up.
