<div><strong>Help Mauricio Return to the Life He Loves</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On April 26, my son Mauricio went out to meet with his university classmates. He had been studying for only 26 days in this new chapter of his life, one that filled him with excitement and hope. He has always been an athletic young man, a dancer, responsible, and full of a joy that radiated to everyone around him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hours before he left, we spoke on the phone. He said to me:
</div>
<div><strong>“Thank you, mommy. I love you.”</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At midnight, I received a phone call that no mother is ever prepared to receive. Mauricio had fallen from a third floor. To this day, we still do not know exactly what happened. We only know that his life changed in a matter of seconds.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That night began a fight that continues to this day.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Mauricio underwent emergency surgery for a severe brain injury. Since then, he has endured seven surgeries, hemorrhages, severe infections, and sepsis caused by Klebsiella bacteria in his bloodstream. He has remained in the ICU for more than seven months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He developed Trephined Syndrome and required an imported cranial prosthesis, which later had to be removed due to infection. He has needed high-complexity antibiotics not covered by insurance, such as Zavicefta.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Today, Mauricio suffers from severe spasticity</strong> (painful muscle stiffness and contractions), <strong>medical instability, and requires permanent specialized care. He cannot undergo another surgery until next year, which increases the risks.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As his mother, I remain standing. But I need help.
</div>

<div><strong>How Will the Funds Be Used?</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>Our fundraising goal is $500,000 (five hundred thousand dollars).</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>The funds will be used for:</strong>
</div>
<div>• Payment of the clinic where Mauricio remains hospitalized.
</div>
<div>• Accumulated medical expenses and future treatments.
</div>
<div>• Private professional nurses 24/7 (specialized care not covered by the clinic or insurance).
</div>
<div>• Intensive private therapies to treat spasticity and prevent further neurological deterioration.
</div>
<div>• High-complexity medications not covered by insurance, such as Zavicefta and other specialized antibiotics.
</div>
<div>• Specialized medical supplies and personal care items that exceed the usual needs of a bedridden patient.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Each day brings new medical and financial challenges. Every contribution helps us continue his treatment and gives him a real chance at recovery.
</div>

<div>Thank you for standing with us.
</div>
<div>Thank you for helping me continue fighting for my son.

<div><strong>With love and hope,</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>His mother.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
Me dijo:
</div>
<div><strong>“Gracias mamita, te amo.”</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Como madre, sigo de pie. Pero necesito ayuda.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div>La meta a recaudar es $500,000 (quinientos mil dólares).
</div>
<div>Los fondos serán destinados a:
</div>
</div>
<div>• Gastos médicos acumulados y tratamientos futuros.
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
