Hola amigos! mi nombre es Ignacio Alfonso, tengo 4 años de edad, y soy de Venezuela; a mis 11 meses de nacido comencé a tener espamos infantiles, mejor conocidos como síndrome de west, he iniciado desde entonces rigurosos exámenes neurológicos y tratamientos con anticonvulsivos, además de asistir semanalmente a terapias de intervención.
Luego de realizarme un VIDEO - EGG en mayo de 2016, mis doctores concluyen mi diagnóstico: EPILEPSIA MULTIFOCAL Y RETRASO GLOBAL DEL DESARROLLO, hasta la fecha he sido farmacoresistente y no se controlan mis crisis. En mi última valoración neuropediatrica se indica la implantación de un ESTIMULADOR DEL NERVIO VAGO (VNS) VNS WikiPedia este estimulador es para prevenir las convulsiones, enviando pulsos regulares, leves, de energía eléctrica a mi cerebro. El dispositivo que proporciona estos pulsos es similar a un marcapasos, y por medio de cirugía se colocará debajo de mi piel en la pared toraxica, y va conectado al nervio vago cerca de mi cabeza y Dios mediante lograré desarrollar una vida normal.

Hi friends! My name is Ignacio Alfonso, I am 4 years old and I am from Venezuela; When I was 11 months old, I began to have infantile spasms, better known as West syndrome, since then I have started rigorous neurological treatments with anticonvulsants such as: valproic acid, clonazepam, levetiracetam and topiramate. This medicines are shortage in my country; In addition, I attend weekly therapies such as: language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.
After performing a VIDEO - EGG in May 2016, my doctors concluded the following diagnosis: MULTIFOCAL EPILEPSY AND GROWTH GLOBAL DELAY, to date I have been drug resistant and my crises are not controlled. In my last neuropediatric assessment the doctor indicated an implantation of a VAGO NERVE STIMULATOR (VNS) VNS WikiPedia, this stimulator is to prevent seizures, sending regular, light pulses of electrical energy to my brain. The device that provides these pulses is similar to a pacemaker, and through surgery it will be placed under my skin on the thorax wall, and it will be connected to the vagus nerve in my head. God willing, this will help me to develop a normal life.
