Humbly asking for help.

As of November 30, 2017 the kids and I will be celebrating their being with Papa for one year.  Joshua at 15 has had to deal with being sent to live with his maternal grandmother for several years, then back to his parents for a few years, then shipped off to live with virtual strangers. Mikaela was also sent to live with those same individuals, along with 13 other people in a single wide mobile home. Not to mention 7 pit bulls.  Their mother, going through some mental health issues isolated the kids from all family members for more than a year before being forced to let us know their location.  Once I was advised of the situation I immediately traveled to Colorado to seek custody of the kids. In Colorado, and probably most other states, grandparents have little to no rights regarding grandchildren. After filing an emergency hearing request I had to wait for 5 days to find out I had been granted a hearing. Being advised of “no rights as a grandparent” I was advised to obtain legal counsel that deals specifically in family law.  After 8 hearings over several months, and numerous conversations with the parents they agreed to give me full legal custody of these outstanding children, with the assurance that the judge was about to make the same decision in the best interest of the children. 
Joshua is in Special Education classes and is excelling at his level. And Mikaela is thriving at her elementary school. 
Seven months after the greatest day of my life I found myself out of work. It is with great humility and humbleness that I am asking for help from the numerous people I’ve met over the years. The children are healthy, happy and finally stable after 15 years and 5 years respectively. I am hopeful and determined to ensure these children have seen their last days of insecurity. We are very appreciative of any and all consideration.
