Lamika Downs, a out-going and quick-witted 14 year old, has been fighting a brain tumor for over 2 years. Lamika, was able to fulfill her dream to be a top model during Fashion Week last year all while wearing custom designed clothing by a top designer. She has been raised by her grandmother, Ms. Piper, since she was a newborn. They've struggled and triumphed since the diagnosis with multiple hospitalizations and great successes like being a featured model during New Orleans' Fashion Week 2011.
She is a vibrant young lady who has been recently hospitalized for the last three weeks with complications from her brain tumor. She vowed before entering the hospital that she would beat this! We believe that right along with Lamika!
