Sarita's British Museum Exhibition

Donation protected
Sarita McGowan is a member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas & Nebraska. She has the honor of representing her people this July at an exhibit at the American Museum in Britain. Several pictures of Sarita, along with other Native people, are part of an exhibit entitled "Spirit Hawk Eye" that is on display at the museum.
She will be participating in classes and exhibitions on traditional regalia, dance, history of the Iowa Tribe, and contemporary culture at the museum, area schools, and community groups. She will also be leading a hands-on workshop as well.
Sarita currently goes into correctional facilities sharing Native American spirituality with incarcerated men and women. She will share with the people of the British community about the effects of such practices for healing this target population.
When not involved in teaching, Sarita will have a chance to follow in the footsteps of a group of 14 members of the Iowa Tribe that went to Europe in 1844 to represent their tribe. She will have a chance to see things that they did, dance as they did, and visit the resting spots of members that passed away there.
Please consider helping with this amazing opportunity to represent America in Europe. If you feel called to do so, please donate what you feel led to contribute. Thank you for considering being a part of this event.
