UMD Club Baseball for BLM

As you know by now, the killing of George Floyd at the hands of the Derek Chauvin has resulted in over a week of protests in major cities throughout the nation. This recent act of racism and hatred has further highlighted the inequality that exists in our country today. 

As a team consisting of predominately white males, we can never truly understand and feel the injustice that our fellow black students do on a daily basis. This has left us wondering what we can do to incite a lasting change across our communities. Sitting by idly and waiting for the change to happen is effectively doing nothing, and we won't stand for that. We would like to use our platform, no matter the size of it, to promote lasting change and to denounce the hatred that is too often seen. In the words of incoming University of Maryland President, Darryll Pines, "Stand in Solidarity, Unite Against Injustice" today, and always. 

The entirety of the proceeds from this fund will be evenly distributed amongst the following organizations:
