In 2000, a group of dedicated people had a dream. They wanted to create an independent, community-based organisation to look after their people. They wanted to be inclusive of all communities and to have everyone under “one umbrella”. They created Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Inc. to support their mission and for the last 18 years, it has been providing much needed aged care services to vulnerable seniors living in our local community.
Each year the number of seniors whose lives are affected by ageing and social isolation increases, and our services are needed more and more. It is our mission to provide assistance to every senior in the community regardless of their language, gender identity, cultural or financial backgrounds.
At Umbrella Inc, we really do not want to turn away individuals who need our services simply because we do not have room to accommodate them. Because of the increasing need for assistance in the local community, Umbrella Inc has committed to moving into a state of the art community building so that we may fully serve the needs of our community's senior citizens.
In 2018, Umbrella finally got this opportunity to move into a bigger home where we can finally deliver the dream to have everyone under one umbrella. We would like to keep providing the best example of what a community can do for its seniors. We want to provide a state of the art, safe, fun and relaxing space for older members of the community regardless of their language, gender identity, culture or financials. We strongly believe that everyone has the right to access quality information and services in their own language. We welcome everyone regardless of their background and our clients, staff and volunteers represent over 52 different countries. Our organisation is a shining example of how the multicultural community can work together to provide a better future for our seniors.
In order to fulfil our mission, we want to create a multifunctional community building and we need your help. Now more than ever, your support is crucial to keep this dream alive, and if you are able to, please make a donation. Every donation will help us to meet the huge costs involved with refurbishments, adjustments and moving offices to the new Umbrella home. In return we will provide you with a certificate of appreciation, regular updates about how our new Home is developing and the impact your donation has made on this new building and community. Your name will also be listed on our “Special Appreciation Wall” which we are planning to have at our new premises.
The funds will be used to build a well-equipped commercial standard kitchen, library and drop-in centre and a community garden.

Umbrella is a registered not for profit and charitable organisation. All donations to Umbrella $2 and over are tax deductible. If you would like to tax deduct your donation and have a donation receipt please send us a message via our donation page with your name and donation amount.
