A better future for the Jahateh siblings
Sheikh Jahateh and Maria Jahateh are two orphaned siblings aged 20 and 9, originally from Jalanbang, a humble village in the Gambia on the West African coast.
They had the misfortune of losing their father in 2013 through a car accident, and a serious illness took their mother away in 2019, leaving brother Sheikh to look after his little sister, struggling for sustainability through a humble door-to-door shoe selling business.
So this campaign aims to raise maximum funds to change the future outlook of these two brothers.
Any monetary contribution, however humble, right down to sharing this campaign among friends and family, is welcome to make a difference to these valuable lives.
The funds will go towards funding a safe house to house the two brothers, towards the education of Maria, who intends to start her first year of school, and towards strengthening Brother Sheikh in his efforts to become self-sustaining and be able to continue to care for his sister with the most basic needs of every human being is entitled to: food, security, health and education.
As the good Master said:
"Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, beaten and overflowing shall be put into your lap. For the measure you use for others will be used also for you."
