My best friend Adam and his family have suffered an unspeakable loss. His father, Michael Anthony Ulibarri passed suddenly, unexpectedly, and peacefully June 5th, 2019. His love, energy, and passion are carried on by his wife of 35 years, Magela, 5 children Christopher, Megan, Adam, Juliet, Kevin, son-in-law Seth, 3 grandchildren Isabel, Nevaeh, Abby, brothers John, Rick, Paul, and parents Anna and Jesse.
Witnessing what Adam and his family have been going through during this time I have felt equal parts heartbroken, inspired, and helpless. Heartbroken to see how so many lives can be changed forever in an instant. Inspired watching the way these individuals came together and supported one another as they attempted to process and navigate their grief. And helpless that there isn’t more I can do for a such a kind and loving group who have lived their entire lives with endless selflessness and generosity.
Seeing first hand the level of support for my friend, his brothers and sisters, his aunts and uncles, his cousins and particularly his tirelessly brave mother confirmed my suspicion that I am probably one of hundreds of people that wished there was something more I could do.
It is for that reason, and countless others I am unable to articulate, that I knew I had to try and help give a voice to those aching to ease the challenges the family has and will continue to face as a result of this untimely tragedy.
I’ve been reminded that death is a lot of things I knew it was, but I’ve seen up close it is also many things I hadn’t considered, most notably a dire inconvenience.
With that in mind I’ve set up a donation website that will hopefully provide some alleviation of stress and allow this family of incredible human beings to focus on what’s important at this impossible moment, and the ones that will undoubtedly follow.
