Help CIH's Client who Needs Brain Surgery!

One of our clients has been in and out of the hospital for the last twenty - two days which has caused her to miss work and she really needs help covering her bills, especially her rent that is DUE ON 10/18.

She has been diagnosed with a chiari A 1 malformation and pituitary gland deficiency.



The chiari A1 malformation is a condition which occurs when the section of your skull containing the cerebellum is too small or is deformed, thus putting pressure on and crowding your brain. The lower part of the cerebellum (tonsils) is displaced into your upper spinal canal. This has caused the following to our client:

- Neck pain

- Unsteady gait (problems with balance)

- Poor hand coordination (fine motor skills)

- Numbness and tingling of the hands and feet

- Dizziness

- Difficulty swallowing, sometimes accompanied by gagging, choking and vomiting

- Speech problems, such as hoarseness

- Ringing or buzzing in the ears (tinnitus)

- Weakness

- Slow heart rhythm 

Her doctor has advised she undergo brain surgery next week, which has a 30% chance of leaving her paralyzed.  Please keep her in your prayers as she has decided to move forward with the surgery in the hopes that she will better be able to take care of her children in the future. 

She is a single mom of four children, two of which are in her care, and she is a survivor of human trafficking. She needs assistance with her living expenses so she does not loose her apartment and can provide groceries and other needs for her children.  She could also use help covering her hospital bills - a $1,300 copay for her hospital stay and a $3,000 copay for the surgery itself.
