Our family is currently mourning the sudden loss of our beloved 19-year old son, Dustin, who was just initiating his own walk in life. As a parent, one always lives thinking our children will outlive us. So of all the pain and heartbreaks one can experience in life, the feeling of losing a child is probably the most difficult to put into words, even more so to endure.
Dustin was fearless, loving, he had goals and ambitions and had just finished his first year at Georgia State. He was the type of son who would surprise his mother, little brother, and little sister with new clothes on a random day just because, like he had done this previous Sunday; the kind that enjoyed accompanying me on Saturdays to play tennis or to take a bike ride on Kennesaw Mountain because he knew how much I enjoy biking; and the kind that checked his investments every morning to see how his stocks' value had changed to joke with his mom that he'd soon make us millionaires. It is hard to imagine our home without his presence now, but the 19 years we had with him were still a gift. He leaves behind a father, mother, sister, and brother and he will be in our hearts everyday, as well as in those of the rest of our family.
Given this was such a sudden loss, we are trying to raise funds to cover the unexpected costs of his funeral, which include basic service fees from the mortuary, the burial, transportation to the funeral home, and other expenses. We are currently still waiting for the coroner so that we can transport him back home in Georgia in hopes that we can hold a service for him early next week. Any amount helps and we truly appreciate any donation in advance.
