UK Soccer Dream

Donation protected
Pablo, Colton, and Ryan are passionate 14 year old soccer players who have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to England to train with the Hyde United Football Club just outside of Manchester. At a recent soccer event in California, the visiting coaches from Manchester singled them out for their skill, hard work, dedication and love of the game. They extended an invitation to join them in England this August for 10 days of training with kids in their non-profit soccer academy. They will also have opportunities to see aspects of professional soccer at the club, and make contacts with coaches and future pro players.

The boys eat, breathe, and sleep soccer. They have devoted themselves to their sport over the years, starting in Kindergarten in a local AYSO team. They have been training hard and striving to improve, while maintaining excellent grades at school. This rare opportunity will help take their game to the next level as they enter high school and prepare for college. It will also be an opportunity for them to explore British culture, form new friendships, and make connections for future opportunities abroad. They dream of being professional soccer players, or working in one way or another in the sports field, and this would be a stepping stone toward realizing their goal!

The boys are working on a Garage Sale, and determining other ways to earn the money for this awesome opportunity. This chance came up rather suddenly, and with hard working parents who are teachers, in the construction and tourism industries, the boys asked me to reach out on their behalf to make this dream a reality. With their departure on August 4th rapidly approaching, they hope to raise enough to fully fund their airfare, accommodation, food, and coaching fees. They are hoping to achieve their funding goals by July 21st.

In their own words:

Pablo says, “My dream career would be to be a professional soccer player. Going to England would be a big boost to making my dreams come true.” Pablo has contemplated that if pro-soccer does not work, he would study hard to become a lawyer that works to draw up contracts for athletes.

Colton mentions, “My mom says that I was born with a ball at my feet! Going to England will push my game as I look at opportunities beyond high school and college.” Colton’s dad is from this part of the world, so this is also a chance to connect with his roots.

Ryan’s comment is “I’ve always wanted to travel out of the country to play soccer. Plus, I have NEVER been out of the country so this would be an amazing first experience.” I agree, this would be a great way to step out to see the bigger world, with two buddies who are also big fans of the “beautiful game.”

Any contribution would be greatly appreciated!! Please share this appeal, the kids are truly thankful to you for making their dreams a little bit more of a reality.
