Jamaica, home to dancehall, culture, unity and most importantly the people and citizens of Jamaica; was recently obstructed and destroyed by hurricane Melissa. Which claimed the lives, homes, and basic needs of hundreds. Growing up in Trelawny, and witnessing the beauty of my culture to now seeing the devastation that has occurred is heartbreaking but we are a blessed and a strong people. There is only so much one person, one group or a few people can do. With lack of resources those of us that are blessed with basic needs such as water, food, electricity and more have a calling and duty to our country During this time stand with us, walk with us, and let the love and and joy our culture has created and brings inspire you to stand with us. Let’s rebuild Trelawny and help as many parish as we can with what we have. No matter how little, you matter and the people of Jamaica that need us matter during this devastating time. Let’s sing the tunes of dancehall through empowering the very people who created and originated it.
