Non Profit dealt a heavy blow after the BC Flood

On November 14 2021, Langley Community Services Society (LCSS) was hit by an unprecedented flood which impacted all the buildings on our property. As the water receded the next day, we were left with tremendous damage from structural to environmental concerns from the debris left behind. The impact from the flood left us no choice but to shut down on-site programs for a couple of days and shift to alternative ways for service delivery if possible. These services included our Counselling Programs for youth and adults, Settlement Program, Substance Use Program, Family Connections Program along with our Child Care Resource and Referral Program. Since our agency is near a floodplain, our insurance deductible is $50,000. A tremendous cost and we hope the community will rally together and help us raise enough money to cover this amount. Your generosity will go a long way to help our society and if we raise more funds than needed, then all of the additional money will go to helping and supporting those that are the most vulnerable through our many programs. Update:  I am pleased to announce that early January of this year, the agency has been able to raise 50K from all the generous donors.  The majority of the funds were directly provided to the agency.
