<div>On Saturday 8/9 and Sunday 8/10, Milwaukee received a historic amount of rainfall, which overwhelmed the sewer system and forced a sewer backup into the homes of thousands of Milwaukee families, including mine.
</div>

</div>
<div>Our basement took on 16 inches of greywater. We aren't in the habit of storing much in the basement, so we were lucky enough that we lost little of sentimental value, and the house is still habitable. However, the water completely destroyed several vital appliances - our water heater, furnace/AC, and washer/dryer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The cost to replace all of these on top of the cost of water damage restoration, mold remediation and electrical circuit repairs is eye-watering. Our home insurance will cover less than half at best, and our savings are rapidly dwindling.
</div>

</div>
<div>We're looking for help paying for these repairs so that we and (even more importantly) our dork cats can breathe clean air and have a comfortable home.
