<div>My name is Shatha, a Palestinian Canadian living in Montreal. Today, with a heavy heart, I am reaching out for your assistance in bringing some of my family members from Gaza to Canada.

<div>As of January 4th, after 90 days of war:

<div>•	I lost my female cousin (Olfat Hussain Al-Haloul) and her husband (Lawyer Salah Nasr) due to indiscriminate Israeli shelling on Jabalia Camp, leading to their immediate martyrdom.
</div>
<div>•	My father's house in Shati neighborhood has been completely destroyed. Additionally, the homes of my aunts in Jabalia and Al-Karama, my uncles in Sheikh Radwan and the Alnasr district, and my sister Areej in the city of Beit Hanoun have all been either completely or partially destroyed.
</div>
<div>•	Families of my relatives have been scattered, moving from one place to another to escape conflict and fighting zones several times, reaching a point where many had to relocate from the northern Gaza Strip to the south, settling in tents on streets in the city of Rafah along the Palestinian border with Egypt, under extremely difficult conditions. Harsh winter, heavy rains, and a near absence of water, food, and security have compounded the challenges. They are now homeless, with nowhere to live, and exposed to constant danger under fire and bombardments.

<div>•	My parents had to evacuate Shati neighborhood, seeking refuge in the city of Rafah. At this moment, we do not know the fate of my brother, Mohammed, whether he is safe and alive, due to the disruption of communication networks and power outages within the Gaza Strip, along with restrictions on movement along the main road connecting the northern and southern parts of the Strip. And we are also unaware of the status of the rest of our close relatives, including uncles, aunts, cousins, and their sons and daughters. We do not know whether they are alive or not.

<div>•	All my nieces and nephews are suffering from several diseases related to pollution, and lack of water and food. At the same time, they don’t have any access to the health care system as the system is destroyed.
</div>
<div>•	The kids have no schools because the schools are all destroyed
</div>

<div>On December 21, 2023, Canada opened its doors and announced to accept up to 1,000 visa applications from Palestinians who want to seek refuge with their Canadian extended family members.
</div>
<div>The program, is set to start next week (January 09, 2024)
</div>
<div>I am reaching out for support to help my sister Areej and her little family relocate from Gaza to Canada. The family comprises Areej, her husband, and their four children, aged 15, 10, 9, and 1.
</div>
<div>Areej and her husband's family (Mohammed Abdulqader Abuowda) have faced substantial hardships. Their home, situated on the border strip in the city of Beit Hanoun with Israel, was completely destroyed during the 2014 war. Despite their efforts to rebuild the house with debts, loans, and aid, it took them approximately 8 years to reconstruct. Regrettably, their newly rebuilt home has once again been entirely destroyed in the ongoing war.

<div>The situation, the danger, and the hardship are beyond any anticipation. Time is extremely sensitive, which means that time costs blood and lives. Besides the lack of access to clean water and food, which has resulted in a number of diseases.
</div>
<div>Additionally, the Canadian Government does not offer financial aid to evacuees or their families relocating to Canada. This implies that my family is solely responsible for covering all travel expenses and settlement costs.
</div>
<div>Given this situation, the burden falls entirely on my shoulders to secure their departure from Gaza and manage all associated expenses. I am reaching out for your assistance in gathering the necessary funds, including application fees and other costs related to travel and settlement, for my sister's family consisting of two adults and four children.

<div>In an effort to facilitate the evacuation and resettlement of my sister's family in Canada, I have initiated a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising $ 73,530. The funds will be allocated as follows:

<div>•	Basic Needs during their stay in Egypt for 2 months: $5,400

<div>•	Cost of Travel from Cairo to Canada (Flight tickets): $5,500

<div>•	Setting up a New Home in Canada (Furniture + Health coverage): $4,000

<div>•	Rent and living expenses for 3 months in Canada (4,000/month): $12,000

Ils sont maintenant sans abri, sans emploi, exposés en permanence aux dangers des tirs et des bombardements.

<div>•	Mes parents ont dû évacuer le quartier de Shati, cherchant refuge dans la ville de Rafah. À l'heure actuelle, nous ne connaissons pas le sort de mon frère Mohammed, s'il est sain et sauf, en raison de la perturbation des réseaux de communication et des coupures de courant dans la bande de Gaza, ainsi que des restrictions de mouvement sur la route principale reliant le nord et le sud de la bande. Et nous ne connaissons pas non plus la situation du reste de nos proches, y compris oncles, tantes, cousins et cousines, nous ignorons s'ils sont en vie ou non.

<div>Je sollicite votre soutien pour aider ma sœur Areej et sa petite famille à se déplacer de Gaza au Canada. La famille comprend Areej, son mari et leurs quatre enfants âgés de 15, 10, 9 et 1 an.

<div>La famille d'Areej et de son mari (Mohammed Abdulqader Abuowda) a connu d'énormes difficultés. Leur maison, située sur la bande frontalière dans la ville de Beit Hanoun avec Israël, a été complètement détruite lors de la guerre de 2014. Malgré leurs efforts pour reconstruire la maison avec des dettes, des prêts et de l'aide, il leur a fallu environ 8 ans pour la reconstruire. <div>En conséquence, le fardeau repose entièrement sur mes épaules pour assurer leur départ de Gaza et gérer tous les frais associés. Je sollicite votre aide pour collecter les frais de demande et autres coûts liés au voyage et à l'établissement pour la famille de ma sœur composée de deux adultes et de quatre enfants.
