- My name is Daranda and my entire world was turned upside down when I was attacked by a pitbull in September 2022. The dog came through a closed door of a house and attacked me by grabbing my right hand and biting me. He wasn't going to let go of me and there was no one coming to help. He let go briefly to lunge at my face and then I was knocked off the porch and I immediately knew I wasnt going to be able to get away so I used my bag to protect my face and neck while he was on top of me. He eventually grabbed my hand again and started shaking and dragging me. The 2 dog owners eventually came out but the dogs jaw was locked down so they also started pulling on the dog while I was still clamped in his mouth. I have significant injuries to my right hand, arm, shoulder and neck. Although the outter wounds have healed I was left with significant nerve damage. I finally found a team of doctors to help me both physically and with the PTSD. I will have to travel over 3 hours one way to get the treatments I need. I'm asking for help for travel expenses to Chicago. I want to make a full recovery and return to my job and my work family! I want to play basketball with my kids and play golf again.
