Ugandan Refugee Mission Trip

After being called to serve in Uganda as a group just a year ago, we have been called back to the SAME country but for a VERY different reason. Our eyes were opened to something that no human should ever have to experience and we cannot turn our backs to what we discovered. In short, a long running civil war in South Sudan has pushed millions of refugees into Northern Uganda, mostly women and children. Many of these children are now complete orphans, having just witnessed the murder and dismemberment of their father and rape or murder of their mother, they fled the violence and are now left to survive on their own in some very large, very dangerous, refugee camps spread out across Northern Uganda. With that said, we have been given an incredible opportunity to come along side of them and determine  how we can support them, whether it's helping with the healing process for PTSD  to helping them find missing family members. You name it, the opportunity exists and we're simply answering the call God has placed in our hearts to find the refugees, orphans and widows and respond to the injustices afflicted on these people. 

This is something that has remained well hidden in our western media but should not be ignored. We want to use this opportunity to help bring awareness of these atrocities and we need your help to do it! Our hope for this trip is to get a sense of the crisis and the needs that exist as a result of it and create opportunities for others to come alongside of the people affected by the crisis.

We need your help in 3 specific ways:

First and foremost, we need your prayers. Pray for the refugees, their healing and for the civil war to end. Pray for our safety, and pray that we can have a significant impact on the lives of the people we interact with. 

Second, we need help to spread the word. And third, we need your financial support. This is a BIG one because there's a lot of moving parts that come into play with a trip like this. There's a great deal of logistics involved to get a team of 5 into the country and to the various impact areas safely. From travel, healthcare, safe lodging, food, drivers, and to translators. Our plan is also to link up with churches/missionaries/organizations and help meet any of their immediate/future needs such as purchasing soccer balls, mosquito nets, water,  helping with PTSD resources, school fees, or building/infrastructure needs. Every little bit you donate will go a lonnnng way in supporting us and others.
