I am volunteering my time for 2 weeks to help develop sports medicine in Uganda. I would be part of a team from Rebalance Legacy Society
who will offer clinical services to athletes and those in need, as well as educational sessions to professionals involved in sports medicine. They have other branches of valuable initiatives, but bringing Orthopaedic Surgeons to Canada, to educate colleagues on our methods, and to visit Uganda to assist clinically is where I fit in professionally. Rebalance Legacy Society is based out of Victoria, BC. Check out their website above, and this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh29RII4ZSY so you can see their amazing work.
The amount I am raising will pay for the essentials for the trip although a 3 day safari (!!) is included which is a cost of approx $400...a lifelong dream of mine. Much of this trip will be a charitable donation or tax deduction for my expenses which will enable me to put funds towards future projects of similar quality. I hope to make this type of project a part of my professional life.
I can offer a budget of expenses to anyone who requests it.
Please feel free to send me any questions or comments regarding this initiative.
Any $5 donation has my sincere appreciation. It is a privilege to have a community of family, friends and crazies out there (you know who you are!) to whom I can send this request.
A musical event and a slide show for all supporters will be offered after my return by the irreverent duo "How's My Hair" (Rob McCart & Moi).
