The opportunity of education

We know that education paves the route to social mobility. Everyone deserves access to education. Remembering Malala Yousafzai and many other silent heroes, , we also know it is not the case in many countries. For those who, like me, are/were fortunate enough to have access to education, let us try to give back. Maybe the world will be slightly less ugly...
I have recently moved to Amman, Jordan for work. In the course of this journey, I stumbled upon many amazing people who didn't have the opportunities I had. One of them is my friend Lin*, a bright cheerful woman whose smile and intelligence couldn't go unnoticed.
Recently, I was saddened to find out she might not be able to attend college this year because of financial reasons. I am relaying her message below and hoping my amazing network and the generous world will support her.
"Hello everyone, I m 21 years old Jordanian girl studying tourism management and helping my brother to organize alternative tourism activities and events . I chose tourisme because I am eager to learn about other cultures and nations: Since I could never afford to travel, I have always hosted friends via couchsurfing to get a glimpse of other people's lived experiences.
I finished my high school two years ago but i could only start my education last year due to my hard financial situation.
Now I have a part time job as a sales assistant but my salary is not enough to pay the University expenses considering that studying in Jordan is only free for limited people and tuition is expensive in the privet universities.
My dream is to finish my studies and give back to my family who were always there despite the financial hardship.
The total enrollment fees is 1700 USD for the next semester.
I managed to save 560 USD from my work. My family provided me with 440 USD.
And now, I need your support donating the rest of the amount (700 USD) .
The deadline to register for university is 30 of September and if i dont manage to collect the money in due time, I would have to skip education for another year.
Life in Jordan is hard for women: jobs are scarce but is even harder when you don't have access to education.
My education is my freedom and my only opportunity to improve my conditions.
I always believed in people and their good faith. I hope we ll be able to support each other in making all dreams reality.
Thank you again"
