Just over two months ago on January 12, I underwent emergency surgery for an infected hernia. I had never been in the hospital before and it was a doozy to have this as my first experience. While the surgery was a success, the road to recovery has been long. I spent nine days in the hospital dealing with several fevers caused by the infection, a tube in my throat, and many other situations that arise after a major surgery.
After I was well enough to leave the hospital, I recuperated at home. That meant several doctor's visits, some good (the infection seems to be gone) and bad (the surgery was not initially healing correctly) news over this period. I was fired from my job in the wake of my sickness. Every day has been a struggle of some sort. From having to beg friends for rides, to pay for groceries, and even to pay for prescriptions. In addition to the physical struggles each day brings.
My biggest hardships however, have been paying the nine days of hospital bills incurred and rent. I spent all of my savings keeping my head above water financially. I am, unfortunately, out of options. This is where I need help from you, my friends. I know it is not easy to give money, we all have our own concerns, our own obligations. This is difficult to ask. Trust me, I labored over this decision as much as possible.
If you are able, I could use your help. If not, I perfectly understand and appreciate your concern. I will repost this GoFundMe for the next couple of weeks as it is imperative that I at least am able to contribute to my latest rent payment and hopefully keep my head above water for a little bit longer.
