DeeDee Bernhardt is a kind, funny, and caring young woman whom is loved by all
who know her. She is facing a big challenge right now and we want to help her.
DeeDee recently battled a serious and quick-spreading infection in her foot due to a spider bite. After many doctor appointments, wound clinic appointments, and antibiotics, the infection continued to spread. It quickly got to the point that doctors advised DeeDee that she would need to have the lower part of her leg amputated. They determined that this was the only way to rid her body of the infection and stop it from spreading even more. DeeDee made the difficult decision to go ahead with the amputation.
DeeDee made it through the operation with flying colors. She kicked butt in short-term rehab and just moved to her mom’s house in preparation for the arrival of her prosthesis and rehab to learn how to walk with it. DeeDee will be living with her mom for the foreseeable future and her employer is planning to put a ramp on her mom’s house to make it more accessible for DeeDee.
So this is where you come in. DeeDee is her sole source of income and she is unable
to work full-time for a while. The $5,000 goal of this campaign would pay her deductible for the year to take some of the financial burden away while she adjusts to life with a prosthetic leg.
