The Fire took EVERYTHING

In the early hours of July 27, 2017, the lives of my family changed forever. On one side of the duplex lived my sister and her boyfriend, on the other my father and stepmother. An electrical short caused the house to catch fire and burned to the ground. Their beloved pets would not make it. And they lost EVERYTHING.

My step-mom who uses a walker was carried out by my dad. They do not know where he got the strength, but even the walker is now gone. Luckily my sister was able to notify everyone in time that they were saved, but again they lost everything. Dad got out in just jeans and shoes only, my sister not even the shoes. Their cars are burned and no longer usable. All of their clothes were lost; their shoes, toiletries, makeup, driver's license, phones, bank cards, anything you can think of, everything gone. Where do you begin after something like this?

We are asking for anything that you can help with. Although related, essentially two families have lost everything they owned. In the next few days as you go to reach for something, please think of my family and realize that they can no longer reach for that item and have lost it in the fire. I think it will forever stick in my head to hear my sister cry and tell me she  no longer even owns a Q-tip to clean her ears with. Anything helps. It is greatly appreciated. And while they don't have anywhere to store it now, we will be, in the near future, collecting household goods that they can hopefully use to furnish their new Temporary Home with.
