Hi, i’m Jessica Skriba the owner of Zara. She has recently been in and out of the vet the past two weeks. It first started out with the diagnosis of Stomatitis (an extremely painful oral condition in cats) & she was put on medication for that. Her condition only got worse. Her attitude has completely changed and she isn’t the same Zara we used to know. All she does is sleep and she’s can’t act like a normal 1 year old cat because of the condition she is in. With all this happening, she was rushed to the emergency vet hospital this morning. They tested her blood and sent it to a lab, and when it came back they told me that she is very anemic and is very very low on her red blood cell count (she’s at 13 and a normal count is 35). I was told today that she will need a blood transfusion. She has a rare blood type as well so they had to search around to find a cat with her blood type which will be very pricey. Her anemia came back as non regenitive, which means the bone marrow responds inadequately to the increased need for red blood cells. This can mean her kidney is failing. I could explain more but i’ll just leave it at that. With all the bills adding up this is all very expensive for me. I work a full time job as a server and am working hard to make money for this. I will do anything to have my kitty back and healthy. Im only 19 and asking for ANY help that I can get to get my baby better.
Thank you !
UPDATE: Unfortunately Zara was diagnosed with heart disease and most likely had lymphoma cancer. She is resting up in heaven now and no longer suffering in pain. This was a very hard decision for me but it was for the best. Donations are still accepted as i am still having to pay all the vet bills. Thank you again.
