Obenour's 2.0

Our hearts are broken for our retired parents, their home and community which was flooded by
Hurricane Florence. Never in a million years would we have thought that they were in danger
of flooding or would be starting over in many ways at this point of their lives.
Their neighborhood has been totally devasted by the unprecedented flooding of the Cape Fear
River. They have lost their home and more than 90% of the items inside, including a vehicle.
Not being in a flood plain, there was no need of flood insurance. All of their expenses to
reestablish their lives will be out of pocket. Estimated costs are more than $400k.



Despite the tragedy and journey ahead we are grateful beyond measure for God’s blessings and
the amount of people that have showed up to help them clear the damage from what is still
standing of their home. We are overwhelmed by their kindness and selflessness. Our parents
are living one day at a time as they determine next steps.
Many of you our friends have asked how you can help. What they need most right now is cash
flow to start the rebuilding process.  If you are able, please consider donating towards the costs
of relocation, temporary housing, replacement of necessities, furnishings when needed, and all
the other unforeseen costs that have and will continue to arise during the cleanup process. For example: Immediate things like: 
House Stabilization including temporary power and remediation 17,000
Temporary living arrangements 2000/month

We greatly appreciate all the requests and offers we have received and are doing our best to
