UCLA Youth Leadership Retreat for Medicine

Hi, my name is Damien and I was just invited to attend a youth leadership retreat for medicine at UCLA! I am 15 years old and currently a sophomore in High School. I am an honor student, I participate in band and in winter guard. My dream is to become a cardiothoracic surgeon. I am the oldest of three kids and both of my parents work extremely hard to provide for me and my siblings as well as provide for all of the extracurricular activities I am in.

This youth leadership retreat will allow me to take classes and dorm at UCLA, work with patients and surgeons among so many other amazing opportunities. This opportunity will only continue to help me learn and strive for my ultimate goal in life which is to become a surgeon so that I may be able to help others and one day save lives.
