Jaden & Lanette's Support Fund

Lanette (McHone) Miller and her husband, Jaden, have had a difficult beginning to 2016.

On Friday, January 1, 2016, Jaden Miller attended his 3rd normal weekly dialysis appointment. All seemed normal except for the severe pain he had in his head. While at dialysis, he lost his balance causing him to take a couple of falls. This led to the calling of 911 and an ambulance arriving to check him out. Jaden was determined to finish his dialysis and refused transport to the hospital at that time.

When Lanette arrived to pick Jaden up at the Dialysis Center, she learned of the falls and immediately took him to the ER. At that time a CAT Scan was ordered and they awaited the results.

Many of you may ask, "Why does Jaden need Dialysis?" For several years now, Jaden has struggled with his health. Attending weekly sessions of dialysis since August of 2013 due to Renal Disease. When he began dialysis, his Kidney's were only functioning at about 5%. Jaden also struggles with Anti Phospholipid Disorder where antibodies effect the blood and attack the kidneys. This requires him to need dialysis 3 days a week, 4 1/2 hours each time.

As they received the results of the CAT Scan they learned that Jaden has a mass about 3 cm in diameter with swelling and bleeding on the frontal lobe of his brain. This mass has been blocking the fluid from flowing properly in his brain, hence causing the severe pain and the loss of balance. This has also caused the dialysis process to be difficult the last couple of weeks. The "headaches" become much worse when his blood is being cleaned.

Jaden is scheduled for surgery on Monday, January 4th to remove the mass. Until the surgeons are able to get it out and have it tested, they do not know exactly what they are dealing with.

So as you can see, this family has been through quite a lot over the last couple years. Although they both have wonderful employers who are very supportive, they will both be off work for varying amounts of time. Jaden will obviously be off for several weeks and Lanette will need to take time off according to the outcome of the surgery. Currently Lanette has no vacation days and her leave will be unpaid.

The Miller's have a beautiful son, Quaid, who is too young to fully understand what is happening with his daddy. His schedule has been disrupted and he is limited on the amount of time he is able to spend with mommy and daddy. We all know how difficult that must be on mommy and daddy as well.

Any funds raised through this campaign will be used to assist Jaden and Lanette with their expenses, whatever those may be. Living on a single income when you are accustomed to having 2 is a challenge, let alone knowing that single income will be reduced due to missed days.

Jaden and Lanette are very humble people and would never ask for help. However, they would be the first to be there if someone needed something. This is one way we can all help them. Let's show them we love and support them. Let's lift up this family during their time of need and help them provide for their family.
