The La Raza Law Students Association at U.C. Hastings College of the Law is pleased to congratulate the Class of 2018 on their upcoming graduation on May 12, 2018. This significant accomplishment was one achieved with the strength, resilience, and determination that our community is no stranger to.
Among this year’s graduates are members of the UC Hastings community, as well as the students who served on the La Raza board during the 2[phone redacted] academic year. Through the commitment and dedication of the board members and the community, the organization was recognized as the Organization of the Year and was featured on the cover page of the UC Hastings website. The board and all Latinx community members have worked tirelessly to ensure that our presence and voices are heard and felt, and to ensure that future law students feel at home at UC Hastings and in the legal profession.
Earning a J.D. is often a goal of unattainable proportion, but these graduates have, through determination and perseverance, beat the odds. Only about 4% of lawyers in the United States are Latinx. Acquiring this prestigious title is no easy feat, and as such, we want to honor this accomplishment with a truly memorable and distinguished celebration.
In order to achieve this, we are reaching out to you for support in our fundraising efforts. Any donation will help tremendously in ensuring we honor our La Raza graduates with a much-deserved graduation to celebrate this incredible accomplishment and momentous occasion.
Thank you for your support, ¡y que viva La Raza!
