Ubuntu Makasi - Human Connections

We are a young family realizing our longtime dream of traveling through Africa for one year in our own unique zebra-looking motorhome to promote the African philosophy of Ubuntu (human kindness/human interconnection) & capture inspiring positive stories to challenge African stereotypes in mainstream media (check our travel blog). That's why the name of our motorhome is 'Ubuntu Makasi' meaning 'Strength through Human Connections'.

Tresor is a humanist, social justice activist and passionate film-maker of thought-provoking documentaries. Dayana sees herself as a world citizen (both believe in a borderless world!) with an African heart and determined peace-builder with focus on child & youth empowerment. Benisha is our adorable, adventurous little girl that loves exploring and joining her parents on their exciting African journey.

We first planned to raise funds for producing our documentary film as we do not only aim to share our personal journey, but especially powerful inspiring stories of activists, social entrepreneurs and artists from the African grassroots level to shift minds to see the beautiful and diverse motherland Africa as an uprising continent full of hidden potentials.

However, being now stranded with our motorhome in Upington near the Botswana border with an oil leak that turned into a major engine issue & our visas for Botswana and South Africa already expired due to the delay of getting the vehicle fixed during festive season, we decided to start this Gofundme campaign to try cover at least part of all the unexpected costs for engine repairs, route changes, new visas etc. to hit the African roads again.

You can check out our Gofundme video for more details and click HERE (coming soon!) for our short documentary of our exciting Africa journey so far.

As a bonus for our supporters:
Win one of 5 cool UBUNTU MAKASI T-shirts:
1. First T-shirt goes to the first non-family supporter.
2. Second T-shirt goes to the most generous donation during the campaign.
3. Third T-shirt goes to the supporter with the most encouraging donation message.
And the last two shirts go to 2 randomly selected supporters.
