On November 19, 2024, my mom, Linda Romines, was found unconscious in her apartment due to a medical emergency. The hospital determined that she is suffering from a condition called PRES, which caused her to have seizures and be intubated for 3 days. She has been in a skilled nursing facility since then and continues to get better. But she is still not able to be released to go home and live by herself. The next step in her journey is to move to long term care/assisted living. Medicare DOES NOT help pay for this.

At this time, I will need to hire an attorney to get her approved for Medicaid that will ensure that she can continue getting the care she needs.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to try and raise enough funds to pay for an attorney to help us get her on Medicaid, to pay for movers and a storage unit to keep all her stuff while she focuses on getting stronger and any other costs that may come up during this process. I have hope that getting her on Medicaid will help provide all of the services that she needs so she can continue to get better.
