Defibrillators For Achill Area

You never know when you, a loved one or someone in your community may need the life saving equipment of a defibrillator.

Comhlacht Forbartha Áitiúil Acla (The Achill Local Development Company) is working with Dr. Noreen Lineen Curtis, who helps to coordinate the Achill AED Defibrillators, to fundraise for new defibrillators and the ongoing maintenance of the current AEDs in the parish.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, our traditional fundraising methods such as bucket collections and local socialising events have not been able to go ahead therefore we have had to go virtual with our fundraisings efforts. Thankfully, defibrillators are very rarely used however, when they are required, early defibrillation has been proven to save the lives of people in cardiac arrest. These machines can be the difference between life or death, and can have the ability to save the lives of those who have access to them within a few minutes.

Any donations, no matter the amount, will be greatly appreciated and all go towards the funding of the defibrillator equipment.
