Help Support Monique's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected

As a mother, sister, aunt, or friend, you never want to hear the news that someone you love has been affected by cancer.  Sadly, this is what has happened to my beautiful niece Monique.  Monique is 37 years old, a loving mother to two wonderful sons, Nygul (13) and Elijah (8). Just last week  Monique was happily sharing in her sons lifes, enjoying their achievments in sports, and loving life.  It was just a spot on her toe that irritated her so she went to visit her Doctor.   The biopsy came back, shocking, the words you never want to hear--stage IV melonoma.  Monique was referred to a specialist in Houston, TX, a six hour drive from her home in Pharr, TX. The sad news is that because Monique is unemployed and has no insurance the doctors there are refusing to treat her without payment up front.

I have set up this page as an URGENT OUTREACH to anyone who finds it in their hearts to donate to this beautiful family in their painful time of need.  Any amount will be received with the utmost gratitude.  Let's help Monique beat this enemy called cancer and give her hope to be there as her sons grow up.  God the Father has an army to fight against every enemy that can attack us.  Stand with me in that army and let's fight this battle together.  "I Praise God for you always."

These words from Monique:

I am 37years old and a mother of two boys. My oldest son is 13yrs old & my other son is 8yrs old.I served in the Air Force & was honorably discharged .I am currently unemployed despite the fact that I have a BA. Since I am unemployed I do not have medical insurance. I was recently diagnosed with malignant melanoma. My dermotalogist referred me to M.D. Anderson in Houston Texas. Although I reside in Texas, Houston is still a 6 hour drive from where I live. I currently enjoy womens flat track derby. I am working on passing my speed requirement so that I can register a derby name. Both my boys are very active. They run summer track, play tackle football, school basketball, & belong to an AAU basketball league that travels almost year round. I am a CASA volunteer, a child advocate for abused children. My mother is my best friend but I have been blessed to have many good friends.I pray that Gods will be done but silently wish to be able to see both my boys graduate high school & get married.

This from Maricela, Monique's youngest sister:

The picture you see is of my sister Monique, known as Moe to all of us. She is going through a hard time now that she was diagnosed with cancer. As a sister, who is younger than her, I am dying inside, because she has always been the one to run to when we had a problem, she is what we call our rock. She is a single mother of two beautiful sons that still need her. She also served our country in the United States Air Force. She is funny and full of life. As a family we are in this fight together. I was once told: when the doctors walk out, Jesus walks in! I believe that and know he will bring many people and doctors in our path to help us. I just want to give her the chance any one would want to give their loved ones to fight this cancer with all we got and help from friends and family! I love her so much and can not imagine being without her here on earth!
