UAH Tennis- Saving the Program

On May 22, 2020 UAH Athletic Director Cade Smith announced that the UAH women’s and men’s tennis teams would be eliminated due to funding cuts. This news was devastating for both the student-athletes and the supporting community. The decision has left the student-athletes feeling anxious and overwhelmed about the future of their academic and athletic careers. UAH tennis players have spent years working towards goals of playing college tennis. They view UAH as their home--an environment full of support, growth, and excellence. While COVID-19 shortened this year’s season, players were optimistic about reuniting and eventually returning to the court. However, following this decision, UAH tennis players may never get another opportunity to represent UAH by continuing and finishing their collegiate careers.

Fortunately, the current student-athletes have been given the chance to salvage their tennis programs with the support of the UAH athletic administration. UAH tennis needs to raise $150,000 by June 5, 2020 in order to restore the programs. With your support we can fight to save the tennis teams at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Go Chargers!

We have raised $20,750 external to the GoFundMe. So, the true total is the GoFundMe amount plus $20,750.
