Double Lung Transplant

Thank you for taking the time to visit this page. Michelle Robinson and her family need your help today! First and foremost, they appreciate all your prayers and thoughts through this extremely trying time!
Michelle Robinson is 48 years old; she is an amazing mother to her beautiful 9-year-old daughter Elsa, a loving wife to her husband Lynn Robinson, a devoted daughter to Pam and Mike, and a sister to Mike Jr.  I’ve personally been blessed for the past 20 years to call her my best friend! She has been a career Kindergarten teacher as Ms. Bonneville at McGilvra Elementary, in Seattle for 12 years and Newcastle Elementary, in Newcastle for the past 11 years. She has literally touched thousands of children’s lives! Her love of children only begins to scratch the surface on the enormous heart she has!

As some of you know, Michelle had been battling a chronic cough for the past few years, in 2015 she thought she finally found her answer- the Dr’s believed that she had a bad case of acid reflex and she had a routine operation to fix that.  Unfortunately that was the first time that she had respiratory failure and her lungs collapsed. After many months of not getting better and even more Dr.’s appointments you can imagine her surprise (as a non-smoker and someone who just a few years prior walked a marathon on the behalf of her grandmother for stroke), was diagnosed in 2016 with an incurable lung disease, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Since then her disease has progressed quickly, she is currently in the ICU at UW Medicine (one of the best places in the country for this disease).  We are now awaiting a holiday miracle—a set of new, perfect lungs!
Double Lung transplants alone cost well over $1million dollars! Thank God her insurance will cover the cost of the transplant, but there is still an enormous amount that is not included in the coverage—copays, medications, transport, oxygen, aftercare, time off of work for her husband and family, and child care—just to name a few.
For the first year after a transplant, a patient remains at high risk for rejection, and there are many costs associated with monitoring and guarding against this. After-care is crucial, and it's expensive! All of this is where we can help!
Please consider donating any amount—there is truly no amount too small—to help Michelle and her family! Also, please consider sharing this on your social media so that we are able to reach as many potential donors as possible!
All donations will be transferred directly to Michelle and Lynn. If you have questions about this process or about the campaign, feel free to email me using the contact link on the campaign page.
