Mike Brainerd with ALS

Mike was diagnosed with ALS in 2009 after his motorcycle accident.  Slowly he started losing his muscles. Starting with the upper body and the past year moved to his legs. The past couple of years it has really taken a toll on his spirit. I am determined to help him to the best of my abilities as long as I can. He has always been my cheerleader. He is a fighter. Fighting for our son,Chase who is only 11. Chase is a fighter just like his dad,he is going through a lot and puts up a strong front.
I would love more than anything in the world to find a cure but for now I am treating him the best way I know how. Unfortunately optimism and determination doesn't pay the medical bills and expenses. He has a breathing machine he uses at night and a suction machine daily. Not to mention the five trips to the ER, two with the ambulance,two surgeries and long hospital stays. I really didn't know where else to turn. I would appreciate any help anyone can give. Mike has a lot more life to live we just need help continuing his journey.
