Help Save My Parents Home

My parents’ names are Billy and Angie Everly. They have been together for almost 28 years, and have been residents of Callahan, FL for longer than that. They have worked very hard for what they have now and are at risk of losing it all because of a crooked company. My parents paid a contractor by the name of American Solar Energy, LLC to install solar panels on their property some time last year. My parents had to put a lot of money into this, including hiring someone else entirely to finish the installation, because American Solar Energy, LLC did not even complete the job, despite being paid to do so. On top of that, American Solar Energy, LLC, it turns out, did not pay the sub-contractors and filed for bankruptcy when approached to do so. The sub-contractor attempted to make a deal with them to settle the debt, but could never get a response. Now my parents have been summoned to court because a mechanics lien has been placed on their home. They have been given two weeks to come up with $8,400 or they are going to lose their home. We have spoken with numerous attorneys and even the news to see if there is any way around this. Unfortunately, under Florida law this is somehow perfectly legal. Many of you know my father, Billy Everly, who works for the town of Callahan. He has helped numerous people in the community when they have needed it, but he now finds himself in need of your help. Please donate if you can. My parents would definitely do the same if the roles were reversed.

(American Solar Energy, LLC did this to several other families including my parents. However they are not to be confused with another company with a similar name,  American Solar Energy Systems, Inc. They are a completely separate company and have shown my parents nothing but kindness. Unfortunately, they have gotten a lot of bad rep from people mistaking them for American Solar Energy, LLC)
