GARY'S ROAD TO RECOVERY

Hello to family, friends and to friends of Gary, as you may or may not know Gary took a recent trip to Vietnam dated 24th December 2019 and whilst on his first night out was poisoned with a foreign substance and was then found on his hotel bed fighting for breath by a guy who he befriended on his flight over to Ho Ch Ming City. The hotel managed to alert the emergency services and they rushed him to the local Cho Ray Hospital. He was immediately put on life support in the ICU Dept. Gary has been on a Ventilator for the last week as he could not breath for himself, on high doses of sedative, he also had number medical issues, which included Liver and Kidney damage, very high heart rate, high fever, Pneumonia and now on antibiotics to prevent any infection. On a more positive note Gary has regained consciousness in the last few days, he remains in a more stable but serious condition. Myself and family are most grateful to all involved in helping Gary in his fight to get back to some sort of a healthy state. These people include the Dr's and medical staff at the Cho Ray Hospital, the staff at the Irish Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam, to Mey Mey and her friend who traveled from Cambodia to be at Gary's side in the Hospital, so thankful that when Gary awoke he saw a friendly face he knew, also would like to thank the German guy who Gary befriended on the flight, there is no doubt in my mind that had he not found Gary when he did things most likely would have turned out much worse for Gary than they have, and to the staff of the the Phan Anh Hotel who acted quickly, by first ringing the Emergency services then alerting the Irish Embassy in Hanoi. I myself will fly out to Ho Chi Ming City tomorrow Sat 4th Jan, arriving Sun 5th Jan 6.15am, so hope to be by my brothers side early Sunday morning. Again it will be a long road to getting Gary back to any sort of good health but with your help and prayers we will all do our best for him.
