Amputation Surgery

Donation protected

For those of you who don’t know, Landon and I found our dog, Axel, on the side of the road about two months ago. After finding his owner, we came to a realization that we could give him a better home. We took him in with open arms, but, unfortunately, could not take his brother as this was a sudden decision for us.

About two weeks ago, while out to dinner, we met a women who fell in love with Axel just as fast as we did. We explained to her that he had a brother, who also was in need of a loving home. We quickly exchanged numbers with hopes of rehoming him in the few short days before Thanksgiving.

Landon went to rescue his brother the following day, however, the dog was hit by a car the night before. The owner communicated to Landon and I that he could not afford the amputation surgery and his only option was to surrender him to the local shelter. We passed this news onto the women we met for only a few short minutes while out to dinner. Tonight, she sent us a picture of the dog (see attached) and told us she will be paying for his surgery - keeping him as her own. Her only words, “at least I know he’ll be safe.”

The vet informed her that his amputation would be, at minimum, $2000. She never asked for money to help pay for his surgery, but with a heart like hers I thought the least I could do was start this page to help in anyway I could.

Any donations count, and all are so appreciated. If anything, this gives us a gentle reminder, that there are some amazing people in this world❤️
