housing bills fund during my dads cancer battle

As most of you know 2020 has been a particularly rough year.

In August of 2020, my Dad was laid off due to lack of work because of Covid. As if that wasn't stressful enough, In early September 2020, my Dad took a visit to urgent care after a swollen lymph node(or so was told months prior)had not subsided. After the doctors took a look, they knew immediately it was not just a swollen lymph node but it was in fact a tumor.

The next step from there was a biopsy to get more answers. The following week he went in for the procedure and  two days later it was confirmed.       Cancer.
After a follow up appointment with the Oncologist it was diagnosed as a stage 2 throat cancer. The cancer started in the tonsils and has spread to the lymph nodes.

After a few opinions and appointments, he has a treatment plan in place. The treatment plan won't be easy. It will long and hard. It will be 5 days a week for 7 long weeks. Therefore making an income will be tremendously hard. As the radiation and chemotherapy will make him tired, weak and in pain.

My father has lived alone and supported himself for the last 14 years. With out work and the ability to work he fears what the outcome might come too. How was he going to pay for rent? heat? electricity? Etc.  The stress, worry, and unknown continued to build.

I wish I could help more financially, but as I stated it has been a rough year for all. That being said I appreciate anyone who had took the time to read this. We ask for positive thoughts, prayers or whatever it is you believe will help guide us in this journey for a optimistic outcome.

If you have more to offer to help towards this incredibly sad and stressful time all donations will go strictly towards housing bills (rent, electricity, heat, water, etc.)

For any family/friends reading this the doctor truly stressed the importance of support for him once treatment starts. People who cohabitate often have more positive outcomes. As I stated above he lives on his own and unfortunately my brother and I live 3 hours away. People who often live alone and go through this statistically show lower chances of a positive outcome. So if you ever have just moment to check on him, call him, text him It would go a long way.

One more time I just want to say thank you and I'm truly grateful for whatever you have to offer.

As we like to say.. Its one day at a time. ❤
